Whatsapp rolls out the much-awaited ‘View Once’ feature in the global version. It deletes the sent photo & video after it has been opened once by the recipient. Initially, the Whatsapp Disappearing Photo feature was limited to only its beta version, now it’s available for the masses to download from the play store.

After the Whatsapp disappearing message feature, it’s considered that the disappearing photos and videos feature will take privacy and security to the next level.

The most interesting feature is, Whatsapp will not allow the recipients to save, share, forward the photos or videos sent using the WhatsApp ‘View once’ feature.

But the sender will be able to see if the ‘View once ‘ sent media has been seen or not, by the WhatsApp blue tick only if the read receipt is turned on.

Another thing to be noted is that if you don’t open the chat containing Whatsapp Disappearing Media for more than 14 days, the media will expire automatically.

How to send Disappearing Photos in Whatsapp

Step 1: Open Whatsapp and select any chat window.

Step 2: Click on the Attachment Icon and go to the gallery to select any photo which you want to send.

Step 3: In the “Add caption” text box, a new clock-like icon will be there on the rightmost corner, select it.

Step 4: For the first time, if you are selecting it, WhatsApp will show you a pop up saying “Photo set to view once” and voila you are done. Press the send button now to send the disappearing photo.

The same process will be followed to send disappearing videos on WhatsApp.
